Sunny Khoo

Sunny Khoo is the Managing Consultant and founder of Human Synergy, an HR consulting & training company that focuses on linking people with business strategy. The Company was set up in 2009 and is a registered training provider under HRDF Malaysia.

Prior to this, Sunny has led the Human Capital Services Practice of Watson Wyatt Malaysia. With more than 25 years of management consulting & commercial HR experience, he has worked across Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, China, Thailand, Philippines, Hong Kong and Australia. Before joining Watson Wyatt, he was the General Manager, Strategic HR for a large public listed company in Malaysia involved in Property Development, Leisure and Hospitality industry. He gained his consulting experience with Towers Perrin and Andersen Business Consulting and has consulted both private and public sector clients, namely in the financial services, property & construction, telecommunications, energy and utilities, pharmaceuticals, conglomerates, plantation, manufacturing and government bodies.

Sunny’s key forte is in the areas of HR Transformation, Talent Management, Organizational Design, Change Management and Performance Management. He has trained and spoken on several public seminars in the areas of Performance Management and Talent Engagement and has written several articles and appeared once on a radio talk show, BFM. He has a Bachelor of Business [Management], from Monash University and he is a Certified Assessor for Assessment Center Tools and Techniques and a qualified Behavior Event Interviewer. Since Human Synergy’s inception in 2009, Sunny together with his consortium partners have helped many organizations especially family-owned, both listed and private entities in aligning their people and talent initiatives to their business strategy. Having consulted and trained more than 100 different companies across numerous industries and various work cultures, Sunny is able to understand the business challenges quickly, accurately and linking them to the overall people agenda.

He and his team have consulted various SME organisations in the areas of HR role re-definition, in the wake of Covid-19 pandemic and undertaken several long-term transformation journeys in aligning the organisation and people with its new business strategy.
